The Charlotte Tennis Association (“CTA”) is a non-profit organization founded in 1991, whose mission is to promote and develop the growth of tennis in the community. The CTA is dedicated to the development of USTA programs, and boasts the largest number of unique USTA Adult League and Junior Team Tennis players in North Carolina. Under the direction of the Executive Director, staff carries out the daily operations, but policy is formed and much of the organization’s work is executed via the Board of Directors, committees and dedicated volunteers.

The CTA was seeking applications to fill At-Large positions, for the 2023-2025 term.

The CTA Board of Directors consists of four members of the Executive Committee (the officers of the Board) and At-Large Directors.  Board Members assist and advise the Executive Committee with direction and policy of the CTA. The CTA is looking for Board Members who will actively participate on committees in the areas such as adult and junior programming, tournaments and events, community engagement, marketing and communications, fundraising and grants or other areas as designated by the President.

The community tennis association desires representation on the Board from individuals who can serve as a resource of knowledge, especially in the areas indicated above, to the Executive Director, the Executive Committee and all organizational committees. Candidates are welcome from all areas/zip codes within the CTA coverage area and individuals of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The CTA may conduct follow up interviews with prospective candidates prior to appointments. Officers are generally chosen from experienced  board members, while at-large board members are usually new to the Board.

The deadline to submit applications for the CTA Board of Director positions was Friday, December 2, 2022. Applicants will receive acknowledgement of their submission, and notification once appointments have been made.
